This book offers a visual tour of the three most emblematic palaces of the House of Alba—Liria (Madrid), Las Dueñas (Seville), and Monterrey (Salamanca)—as well as their summer residences in Ibiza and San Sebastián. All of these properties, rich in works of art, were personally decorated by María del Rosario Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart y Silva, 18th Duchess of Alba, who also led the reconstruction of the Liria Palace after its destruction in the Civil War (1948–1956) and recovered much of the family's artistic heritage dispersed during the conflict.
Edited by Naty Abascal, the book includes texts by architect and professor Rafael Manzano, offering an architectural portrait of each building. The images, taken by prestigious photographer Ricardo Labougle, along with photographs from the Duchess's personal archive, complete this intimate and artistic look at the most beloved residences of one of the most representative figures of the Spanish nobility.
