These pages tell, without words, the story of a journey through Spain, in which its author, the photographer Fernando Manso, has visited unknown and remote corners and captured them on the plates of his large format camera.
Fernando has made light the absolute protagonist of this journey in these spaces. It's a different kind of light, for he has dispensed with blue skies and bright sunshine—an image so often clichéd—and with spotlights and flashes, instead offering visions of places that, though familiar, reveal themselves with such intimate truth that we barely recognize them. This is thanks to his technique, his artistry, and his patience in waiting for the light.
Because Fernando dedicates all the time in the world—that's his luxury—to bringing us closer to an artistic heritage, sometimes secret and difficult to access, that one must know how to see: spaces often at risk of disappearing, which he unveils after meticulous research. This work is the result of that journey, with images of great beauty reproduced with exceptional quality, presenting us with a vision of Spain in a new light.
