These pages tell, without words, the story of a journey through Spain, in which its author, photographer Fernando Manso, visited unknown and remote corners and captured them on the plates of his large-format camera.
Fernando has made the light in these spaces the absolute protagonist of the journey. It's a different kind of light, as he has dispensed with blue skies and bright sunshine—sometimes a clichéd image—with spotlights and flashes, to give way to visions of places that, even familiar ones, appear to us with such intimate truth that we can barely recognize them. Thanks to his technique, his artistry, and his patience in waiting for the light.
Because Fernando spends all the time in the world—that's his luxury—bringing us closer to an artistic heritage, sometimes secret and difficult to access, that we must know how to see: spaces often at risk of disappearing that he reveals through detailed research.
This work is the result of that journey, with images of great beauty reproduced with exceptional quality, which presents us with a vision of Spain in a different light.
