Picasso Horses is an exhaustive study of the presence and evolution of the horse in Pablo Picasso's work, spanning from 1889, when he was still a child, to 1972, a few months before his death. The book, published in Spanish and English, includes essays by experts such as Dominique Dupuis-Labbé, Laurence Madeline, and Jean-Louis Gouraud, who address the importance of this animal in Picasso's iconography from different perspectives. Throughout its pages, eighty-five works by the painter are presented, from his earliest youthful depictions of the horse in his urban environment to its integration as an enduring symbol in his personal language. The book also offers a selection of Picasso's texts, a bibliography, and other graphic materials. This publication accompanies the exhibition organized at the Museo Picasso in Málaga in 2010 and provides a fundamental focus on a key aspect of Picasso's artistic production, enriching its analysis and critique.
