Reflections of Paradise celebrates more than forty years of landscape design by Fernando Caruncho, renowned for the serenity, purity of lines, and masterful use of light in his gardens. Inspired by Islamic gardens, Zen thought, and European classicism, Caruncho explores the essential relationship between humans and nature in his designs. This book, a continuation of the dialogue begun in Mirrors of Paradise (2000) with Gordon Taylor and Guy Cooper, features a personal selection of twenty-one gardens created in the last two decades. These include a vineyard in Italy, a garden in Biarritz, and a country estate in New Jersey. More than two hundred photographs illustrate Caruncho's philosophy: geometry, scale, local materials, and the pursuit of a profound fusion between architecture and landscape. Reflections of Paradise is a visual and conceptual meditation on beauty, light, and the garden as a sacred and human place.
