The exhibition "Dalí Poetics of the Small, 1929-1936" focuses on the small-format works of Salvador Dalí during his most productive period, considered the peak of his career. Following the acquisition of the painting "The Fish Man" in 2014, little-studied aspects of his work in the 1930s were explored, especially his preference for painting in small formats, which represented almost half of his works during that period. The exhibition brings together a representative selection of these paintings and analyzes their possible sources of inspiration, highlighting Dalí's admiration for Vermeer, as well as influences from photography, photomontage, and collage. It also includes a technical study by Claire Barry to better understand his technique and creative process during this period. This work seeks to offer a deeper insight into Dalí's artistic method during his most prolific years.
