The collection of Chinese porcelain pieces assembled by Álvaro Conde forms what is considered one of the finest private collections in the world. This publication includes texts by leading experts in the field: an introduction by Becky Mcquarie of Christie's auction house; a keynote essay by Chinese porcelain specialist William Sargent; and a text on trade relations between China and New Spain written by María Bonta de la Pezuela.
This book compiles one hundred and twenty masterpieces from the collection, divided into four chapters preceded by eight texts. The works include jars, animal figures, plates, and tableware. Each piece is reproduced in full color and documented with a technical sheet and a study by William Sargent.
