During the lockdown in Italy, Gaby Wagner dedicated herself to photographing the stunning beauty of Venice. Her images capture the canals reflected like liquid mirrors, the architectural perfection, and the colors intensified by the sun and the blue sky. In the midst of the pandemic, when coronavirus numbers were alarming, the lockdown offered a unique opportunity to see the city in its purest form, without the crowds. Walking alone through the empty alleys, with the only sound being her footsteps, Wagner experienced a sense of mystery and wonder. Living in that emptiness, surrounded by beauty, was a privilege that profoundly marked her life. The photographs she took and the emotions she experienced during that experience stayed with her, and her wish is for the viewer to feel as if they had been there, sharing that unique moment.
