Sybilla. The Invisible Thread is presented as a catalog for the exhibition of the same name, which will take place at the Canal de Isabel II Gallery in Madrid, from September 27, 2022, to January 15, 2023.
Sybilla burst onto the Spanish fashion scene in 1983. Since then, national and international critics have recognized her as the best designer our country has produced since Cristóbal Balenciaga. Viewed as a whole, it might not seem easy to find a common thread in her work; however, that thread exists and is present in the form of languages that allow her to play at confusion and, furthermore, give coherence to her work.
This exhibition aims to showcase those languages articulated by that invisible thread that gives coherence to all her work. Languages she seems to weave without realizing it, because Sybilla puts words aside to express the Life that runs through her.
