During his extensive career as a red-legged partridge hunter, Luis de Ussía, Count of Los Gaitanes, kept detailed hunting diaries in which he summarized the characteristics of the day and closed with his accurate assessment of how it had gone. Between 1976 and 1991, the Count of Barcelona, Juan de Borbón, another great partridge shooter, regularly participated in the same hunts, which Ussía duly noted in his diary.
Don Juan de Borbón, Conde de Barcelona. Cacerías de perdices en España, 1976-1991, compiles the pages from the diaries of the Count of Los Gaitanes where Juan de Borbón appears with his rifle in the company of other great hunters.
The book was edited and its prologue written by Alfonso Ussía. It is richly illustrated with drawings by BARCA, and it closes with epilogues by José María Torrego and Íñigo Moreno de Arteaga, Marquis of Laserna. In addition to facsimile reproductions of the diaries of the Count of Los Gaitanes, the book also includes indexes by names, weapons and hunting grounds.
