Madrid in the Abelló Collection

The collection brought together by Juan Abelló and Anna Gamazo is one of the most splendid art collections in Europe, with works ranging chronologically from the Middle Ages to the twenty-first century. It contains a very cohesive group of paintings and drawings of views of the city of Madrid and of locations within the Autonomous Community, combined here and studied in monographic form for the first time.

The richness and variety of these works offers a tantalizing tour through Madrid as it once was. This group is equivalent to a small museum of the evolution of the image of the capital and its nearby Royal Sites, some of which are now World Heritage sites.
