Three centuries of American prints from the National Art Gallery of Washington highlights the most important movements in the history of art and printmaking in the United States from the colonial era to the present. It features more than 100 artists ranging from Paul Revere to James McNeill Whistler, Winslow Homer, Mary Cassatt, George Bellows, Romare Bearden, Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, Helen Frankenthaler, Chuck Close and Kara Walker.
The catalogue includes contributions from twelve authors that address various topics of American art, as well as artist biographies and a glossary of engraving terms.
