This book offers a visual tour of the three most representative palaces of Alba's house: those of Liria, in Madrid, Las Dueñas, in Seville, and Monterrey, in Salamanca, as well as by the summer residences of the family in Ibiza ( S'Aufabaguera) and San Sebastián (Arbaizenea).
All these houses, in which valuable works of art are preserved, have been personally decorated by María del Rosario Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart and Silva, XVIII Duchess of Alba, current head of the noble house. The own duchess was, in addition, architect of the reconstruction of the Palace of Liria after its almost total destruction in the Civil War, works that were carried out between 1948 and 1956, and of the recovery of all its dispersed artistic patrimony on the occasion of the contest.
In this publication, coordinated by Naty Abascal, the texts of the professor and architect Rafael Manzano provide us with the architectural semblance of each of the buildings and constitute a guide to carry out our itinerary through the large-format photographs made expressly by the renowned interior photographer Ricardo Labougle, along with other images from the duchess's personal album that complete this unique vision of the most beloved houses by Cayetana de Alba.
